Try this setup for around $50.00.
Works well with a 5/8" auger also - but extension bar is 3/4" diameter and you need to rock the bit while drilling down.
1" bit avoids this but I didn't feel like buying another bit.
Not impossible, but difficult to explain why you are carrying it around (if busted) though.

What would one think Byron Priess' thoughts, logic, response to digging a hole at the base of a tall tree and hitting a root almost immediately? More so, how would he have decided the distance away from said tree to even dig? What exactly does "at the base of a tall tree" mean? Would three or four feet out be considered too far?

Ive learned that while possible to pry a locked door open
its much easier to turn the knob of an unlocked door.

Evolving an idea that stems from the right image/verse pairing to a point that leads somewhere is something I dont think Ive ever accomplished. Ive always been able to make a connection and a random "this looks like" shape match up but grasped at straws to paint my own picture. That is where I went wrong.

Its been easier to recognize how many others approach this hunt with the same reverse-sherlockian googlery since all the EU awakening. I'm learning to appreciate where many of the old guard went wrong and how we all need to renew our master of all games memberships.

You can start a FB group and invite all the geniuses your heart desire. At the end of the day you'll have a 'think tank' group of like thinkers to blow smoke up each other's cornholes. I'd rather have a group of misfits and inglorious adversarial thinkers in my group. Out of chaos comes order.

Im not sure FB groups or thinktanks are good for this hunt. Smoke blowing seems like the trendy new thing.
