So I'm not the only one who thinks that woman's face resembles the Statue of Liberty?  Good.

About that "Russian Church" (presumably, St. Basil's in the Kremlin in Moscow).  There's a famous restaurant, the Russian Tea Room, in NYC, next door to Carnegie Hall.

I am pretty sure that most of us agree that the woman's face is that of The Statue of Liberty:

If this were the case, NY would be the obvious location, right?  Another confirmer can be seen in the bird flying over the lady.  The bird's head comes from the gargoyles on the Chrysler Building in NY:

Also, (I'm sorry I dont have my notes with me) a fellow hunter found a very similar match to the blue building sillouette as a church or synagogue in NY....not sure which one it was though.

So, it does look as if this P is leading us to somewhere in The Big Apple, but where?  I'm not even sure if any of the hunters has matched a V (verse) to this P.  Anyone.....?

Ok, we seem to agree on Chrysler Bldg gargoyle head & Statue of Liberty face.  The blue church may be St Nicholas Orthodox church (not far from Chrysler Bldg).  

Now, the clock may just be there to match the month/gem/flower...but what about the others?  Bottom left with the red rectangle?....a door?, Washington Arch, etc...?

A smooth maroon panel above a smooth yellow panel means..?

I agree with you about the colorblind test.  It could also be one of those "secret decoder" things I used to have as a kid --- if you put an opaque colored lens over it, it may reveal something.

It does kind of look like "a" trade center.  Maybe they thought if they put both up it would be too easy.

Ah yes, one of those silly decoder things one would find in cereal boxes.  I've dug around my house looking for anything clear and red (like acytate) but to no avail.  I did, however; find a clear purple ruler.  When placed over the red spotted panel, the purple dots were brought out a little better but I could not make out anything.  I think if you were to use red, it would make it real noticeable.

I tried red (a little Chloraseptic in the bottom of a glass) but saw nothing.  However, I'm a little color-blind, so I may be the wrong person to ask.

Does anyone (with good color vision) have one of those 3-D glasses with a red and a blue lens?  Try each of them.

There may be more than one in NYC, but other than the Russian theme and the possibility that it was next to WTC (and was destroyed along with it)--and our gray monolith picture is next to the blue church in the painting--I don't spot any visual correlation.

If the casque was buried next to or near the WTC, I think it is sad but safe to say that we will never find it. We can contact the publisher if we have a good guess, of course.

However, I did find this on a listing of NYC area cathedrals:

"Cathedral of the Resurrection, 228 N 12th St., Brooklyn, (Russian Orthodox Outside Russia)
Dramatic and detailed recreation of a Russian Church, onion domes and all."

No photo. Argh.

Unrelated: I feel that the hemline of her dress is in a specific shape. It does not quite match the lower tip of Manhattan, though it might match the outline of another land mass. I'm thinkin'.

I used to live in Brooklyn so I would really like to see this one solved.

Howdy all, I haven't looked at this one too much... Definitely the Statue of Liberty face, I like the bird head/ gargoyle correlation.... and the color blind panels... excellent! I had allway assumed the panels layout would be a match to a window panel very close to the casque location, round top panels and square lower panels, for some reason the double line on the bottom made me think that...

I did the red filter thing digitally (red layer, 50% opacity)--no dice. I cannot discern an image. But I do agree that it looks like colorblind tests. Maybe it's simply a reference to colorblind tests, or the answer involves the name of the person who invented those tests?

My wife saw those and said it reminded her of the artwork in the lobby of Lincoln Center, but after taking a peek at the photos in the Met, we both now think it's not a factor.

Thanks to Dan's high res pics, I was able to look at this pic in more detail.  In the middle of the ocean appears to be the number 74 with an X below it --- it is very faint, written in the white part of the ocean.  Am I just seeing things?  Anyone see anything else?  I would think that the ocean, which takes up half the picture, would hold a couple of clues.  If you delude yourself enough  ;) you can see a large letter "N' written in white foam on the blue ocean.  Anyone else see that?

I can't see any clue in the colored dots at the top of the picture.  I am a short drive from New York, so if anyone can tell me where to look, I'll be happy to go there.

Egbert, if you are still around, I have a proposed solution for one of the verses for New York. It is a bit of a stretch and I have to make guesses about the area as I can not find anything to show me a picture of the area. The majority of the solution will have to come from being at the place, but I did come up with a possible starting point.Or if there is anyone else who wants to check out the New York area, I will gladly post my idea in hopes that I may, in some way be right...Thanks to all

Thanks to Fox, the 74 can now be said to apply to the latitude/longitude of New York City.  Now all we need is a 40 or 41.  Anyone care to count the dots?
