I do think the area has merits as I traced a trail from Legion of Honor, however the flagpole I was told was new. But it appears that a pole or mast was at the memorial. Matthew it seems has excavated everywhere, did he dig by the pole and memorial?

Yes to Matt digging there. I mentioned that at the end of the post.
He might've caused a few land slides there too but don't tell anyone!

BTW this is the correct spot for #1 "solve!" that corresponds with where X is on image 1:

OK brainstrust...
Who has dug in the Shakespeare's Garden area of Golden Gate Park.
Honest to goodness 3 foot deep holes only please, or good solid probing.
If people have broken earth there, where have people dug?
Umm... just asking for a friend...

Brad I presume?!
I know GoldenGate said the back of the wall, behind the door (my favorite spot there) was dug multiple times but I don't trust that guy as far as I can toss him!

I know that spot has been dug. I have seen photos of multiple digs from there, and one legitimately deep one. That seems to be the most popular spot due to the image match.
Thanks.

Using the Boston theory in the way JJP described the ladies face in image 11 as being a baseball field/home plate. It got me thinking about the line in verse 7 “Ace is high” and the shape of the woman’s face and nose in image 1. The below is very rough, it was more about putting it out there for the similarity with the Boston solve being connected with Baseball, so of the ideas below may be a little stretchy.

Chinese Playground (now called willie woo woo park):

A split-level park located within the Chinatown area of 4 blocks down from Broadway and 3 blocks up from Bush St to “Sacramento” (the block indicators on the sleeves pointing 4 blocks down and 3 blocks). The park was redeveloped in 1977, but has since undergone 2 or 3 major renovations.

1980 map of Chinatown:

Image

Hang Ah Alley/Street (Hang Ha means “Aroma” or “fragrance:) Hang Ah Alley is at the back on the playground where the tennis court is. “Alley” small street between walled buildings.
This area still smells with the tea room burning incense and has for around 100 years.

Chinese Playground - Known for tennis (“Ace is high”, the tennis court is “elevated” from the Chinese playground park)

Tennis rackets make noises when the ball hits as well as the noise of the ball hitting the walls/court. (Sounds from above) So being below the tennis court in this park these two lines could fit.

Wonder if there is some kind of tennis reference in the image (tennis racket, the symbols having tennis references?), that would be our home plate/ fence and fixture/rectangle plot.
Actually… This would explain a lot. Here are few images of tennis rackets from the 1980’s. The “head” of the tennis racket explains the ladies very oval face I.e. no chin. Also, would explain the square blocks on the dragon representing the tennis strings... Would also explain her nose being so straight like a tennis racket and her eye browse looking like the connecting part of the head to the shaft.

Mark Twain wrote most of his major titles in an octagon shaped pagoda, there is a Pagoda present at the Chinese Playground:

Mark Twain’s writing place:

There used to be a tall flagpole located at Chinese Playground, probably removed during the 1990’s update:

Image

The steps up to the Pagoda have a set of larger stepped concrete walls (quite giant steps). The stepped wall almost looks like some of the steps on the dress, one step is deeper than the others:

Also, a giant pole running down the center of the steps…

However, if it was ever there… It’s gone, probably during the 90’s redo, but definitely gone now as of June 2019 this was the current state of the Chinese playground…:

It’s my thought that if it was ever here, then the “X” icon on the dress marked the dig spot as indicated with the stepped wall in the planter on the other side:

JJP explained that woman in image 11 was a witch and her right sleeve showed a home plate. I don't know if he said anything about her face.
Also there's a large fortune cookie factory on Jackson street that makes the air smell sweet. Jackson (stonewall). I know it's for Andrew Jackson but hey!

That is strange. He obviously hasn't dated many witches.

No, he actually points to the top of her head and around the hair line and said this is a baseball diamond and proceeds to say the head as being home. Followed by showing the baseball home plate on her sleeve. Granted, I'm not sure about JJP's description of the baseball diamond, but thats what he said.

Yes, he did mention the outline of her hair as diamond and top of her head as the home base. I don't remember anything about him describing her face tho.

Funny. After Boston, I revisited SF. I have an incling of a place in GGP, but am troubled about the immigration connection which seems to be a strong running theme. So I looked elsewhere, researched Chinese immigration in SF, and found 2 places- Angel Island where large amounts of migrants from China were "processed", and Chinatown where they lived because there were limited capability for the migrants to own property. That stripped the bulk of SF out of the running, including GGP.
The only problem being that there is really only one park- the Woo Woo park. And it's not really a picturesque, landscapy kind of park. But then again, Boston was in the playing area of a baseball field so it's really all on the table.
I didn't look too deep into Woo Woo, but that's some pretty good research. Shame it's been redeveloped. I guess the only chance in that situation is that it was buried in a place that wasn't touched...
