When there is at least 100 people who have a solution and no casque, and can back it up with evidence like yours, what makes your solution any better than theirs?

The needle is skipping on someone's broken record turntable again. Whose turn is it to ascend from armchair comfort and go deal with it this time?

Even when he does quote you/me, he may very well still be exclusively speaking to George. So don't let any of that cloud your thought process. As I learned the hard way.

Interesting...

Nobody ever claimed it was "better" afaik. It's definitely My Fav flavour, as far as Cali dig spots go.

Do the 100+ solution people present their stories using a casque-city-traveling Trash Muppet, who prefers communicating through song lyrics?

If not, whatever. It's all cool.

Really most sincerely my favorite: https://imgur.com/a/greetings-from-san- ... ix-vVGmOnL

True, including Dave. He's just asking in the absence of objective solutions, what makes one solve "better" than any of the hundreds of others? It's a good question, one that gets to the heart of the puzzle in 2025. But I understand why nobody, including most people who claim to be trying to solve it, want to address it. It's easier to claim "victory", and move on to things that actually interest them more than the solution.

Other than a casque, nothing.

Other than a casque, nothing.

Back in the day, there were two objective manners in which the puzzle could be solved. Digging up an authentic casque, verified by BP himself was the most obvious, and what happened in Cleveland in 2004. The other was to describe the site in enough detail that BP would work with you on the recovery (or send you the jewel, but presumably do the actual recovery himself). Out of the thousand or so searchers that tried this route, only the group in Chicago was successful as far as we know. With BP gone and the casques seemingly unrecoverable (in the conventional sense), it would appear that we are out of options for any more objective solutions. Or so we thought on that fateful night in Roanoke when we concluded that our next best option was to go home, regroup, and then come back fresh and dig the exact same hole again.

First letters of each verse line, ATNHEFSNRIIOGGTT, make an interesting anagram; THORNIEST GIANT F G.
Since the Gift-giver called the Fairmont Hotel logo a "Rose Tree", THORNIEST for a rose tree, GIANT F for Fairmont logo, and G for garage makes sense.

It's honestly really sad how far the level of critical thinking mixed with comradery around this puzzle has fallen. It seems to be nonexistent nowadays. Honestly, it makes me sad, honestly sad.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to work for JJP and get an image. Would I give it all up for an image, or less?

Then I think, "Would I mislead everyone for anything? Would Josh or George?"

No, I wouldn't. But, hey, people would. I'm 75% sure.

I was in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami the past few days, and Renovator dogged me for not asking you to have a face-to-face where I could ask, "What the f**k?" I'll be in the Tampa area again next month. Are you interested in having that conversation face to face?
