I think most people misread the verse lines by inserting a comma between near and ace. That makes two object to look for.
The other 7 couplets of V7, the twin lines support each other.
Not far away, 3 flagpoles.
Education and Justice, sign.

So, "sounds from the sky", near "ace is high" describes the same object, not two.
Similar to NYC "From the middle of one branch of the v", that hides the name.

So, the answer to my question is that other people are doing it wrong? IOW, their matchy-match isn't as good as yours?
Do I have that right?

No, we haven't gotten to your question yet! We'll get there as soon as you answer my original question.
What "Sounds from the sky, near ace is high" is (one object) and explain your reasoning.

It's the KSFO radio antenna though, correct?

Not the radio station antenna.
"Sounds from the sky, near ace is high" is all you need to come up with the answer.
Similar to NYC's "From the middle of one branch of the v",

I can't explain my reasoning any better than I already have, Chris, since I think it's two lines for two separate things. One of which I already explained here:http://quest4treasure.co.uk/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=7325&start=622 We like the Literary Clues because they're objective and consistent across all twelve puzzles, including this one.
Perhaps if you tell me the singular object that you are thinking of, I can explain your reasoning. Or you can do it and save me the trouble.

Getting colder Dreamer. This image should explain it. Not the antenna but the sign.
Tell me how one can come up with the KSFO sign with just the verse couplet. Double meanings afoot.

Ren, I like literary connections too. V7 "literally" names the author. So, I chose Mark Twain's "Clemens of The Call". That's why "The Call" box, and alarm, and red color to get your "attention", is a good choice.

As is your right. I prefer to choose the same ones BP researched and then included in the Verses, but that's my right. More objective, less Matchy-match.

How do you know what "same ones" BP researched are?

Well, two are from the same, obscure book. There are other patterns (again, objectivity) but that's a good start in determining their inclusion in the Verses is not coincidental. Or irrelevant.

Nah, Dave and I are pretty good at spotting patterns, and the embedded Literary Clues are just one of the many these puzzles contain. You are welcome to ignore them if you find them inconvenient, but at this point, it would be pretty hard to deny that they exist.

OK, you are confused again. No one is arguing about the existence of the literary connections, gas lighter Jr.
I argued your claim that you know what books BP researched.
"I prefer to choose the same ones BP researched and then included in the Verses."
In fact, you don't know which books he researched. It's all your assumptions.
Who knows, maybe he used two literary references in the Gemini puzzle.
