OK, everything is a stretch in The Secret.  But you must admit, the sink thing, whatever it may be, is there for a reason.  The same way the the 74 is there, and the wierd patterns in the water.  The splash has a million things in it which once the location has been pin pointed, should all become clearer.  Image2 and the lion hair is the same way.  Image2 got us to Charleston the same way, I believe, image12 got us to the Statue of Liberty area.  Decphering all the little things will come once we're all agreed to the location.  This is no offense to anybody here, but it seems that when different ideas are brought up, they are quickly shot down by someone who believes something else.  I'm guilty as well.

Suggestion:  If everybody here would agree to humor all the ideas put forth, then some of the ideas like Ellis Island would not disappear for a year before someone reintroduces the concept.  How many casques would be found now if ideas weren't dismissed.  I'm quite sure, with all the intense hunters here, the all the treasued grounds have been discussed at length, and forgotten about.  Whew!  Exhausting.  Just got home from Liberty state Park.  The snow chased me out, but I'm going back!!!!

edit: Sorry for the rant.  But, Hey Yo, I'm from Jeersey. can't expect much.  Fox, what do you think about the verse?

Couple of interesting picture links, and there are more on the root page.

And boogie, this isn't an attempted shoot-down, though I do happen to believe it's elsewhere.

Just found them and thought everyone would find them interesting.

Or this one, that Siskel and Egbert found awhile back. It's at E. 97th and Madison Ave. just off Central Park in Manhattan:

From another website: "St. Nicholas Cathedral is the main temple of the Russian Orthodox Church in North America. It has not only great
religious importance, but is also valuable as a unique architectural monument in the United States' largest city. In 1934, the architectural complex
consisting of the temple and the Moscow Patriarchate's Representation buildings officially obtained the status of being an architectural masterpiece.
The temple was built in 1902 by the command of Tsar Nicholas II."

Springboarding from some comments from Siskel from awhile back...

Some details from P12 and from the face of the Main Building on Ellis Island:

Nice. Good pics Pine Tree.  I've seen this church posted before, but not quite that good.  I must ask you though, why do you think this church has anything to do with image12?

Forgive me for the "don't shoot me down" post.  I know how it looks in type, but it's not really what I was trying to say.
But gosh, how long has everyone been at this?  These designated threads are an excellent idea, it's just that now the forum should be designed for one casque at a time.  These are that hard.  The closest find seems to be Houston.  Wilhouse, wouldn't you appreciate all efforts on this website be targeted towards that one for now.  Or is it that everyone really cannot stay on the same page?  I've only been at this for a year and a half, but it looks like this thing should move in another direction.
"Spinning Wheels" is all we're doing.  If I'm wrong about this let me know and I'll bud out. Hey, we really don't owe anybody anything here, right?

8)  I dont think we are spinning wheels at all.  I also dont think that anyone shoots down new ideas.  Yes, we have been working on this thing for quite some time....I started these threads back in '01.  That doesnt mean we arent making any headway, nor does it mean that casques have not been found because we dont focus on just one page.  It means that this hunt is well put together and challenging.

One problem I have with all of us focusing on 1 casque at a time is this:  There is always a "possibility" (wondering if wilhouse agrees  :P ) that we still do not have correct matchings for Ps & Vs.  I am happy with the P8 V1 pointing to Hermann Park in Houston......but....what if one of those is incorrect.  We focus on those and then we are spinning our wheels.  As each hunter finds something else "interesting" possibly pertaining to another P or V, cool...it may open up others we are working on.  I think the way we are doing things around here is working quite nicely....dont you Sir Egg? lol  ;D

The reason churches (orthodox) keep popping up for P12 is because of the sillouette of the church/mosque/? in the arched window behind Lady Liberty.

I dont think anyone is disregarding your ideas without thought boogieman.  I for one am pretty much sold on the NY casque being somewhere very near Ellis Island {if not on it}.  Still just having difficulty in pairing up the correct V....as of now, kind of like V5..but I am sure that will change several times before this casque is found.  :-\

I guess in a nutshell:  "Keep up the good work guys!  We HAVE found one of the elusive casques and it is only a matter of time before the next one falls to this group."

Well said, well said Fox.  After further review, my suggestion wouldn't work at all.  Everyone here is spread out across the country.  There's only so much one can do for Houston while living in Jersey.  Recon is what will find that one.  Good luck Wilhouse!  For now, I will keep plugging at Ellis and post whatever I find.  I pass that area going to work every day and I just know it's there.

Just found out that Liberty State Park is mostly built up from landfill as well, and by another railroad.

here's a great page for NY churches:

Thanks boogieman.  I too am pretty much sold on the Houston casque.  The Milwaukee casque seems to be becoming clearer as well.  You have me now convinced with the Ellis Island casque as one of the next to be found.  :)

Here is another big window similar to the P.  This one being in the Train Station at Liberty State Park.  Do they all have to look like this?  lol
Image

if you look at the lowest left corner of the window (as in the lower left hand of our P) you could {maybe a stretch} almost see the similarities between the two.

same train station has yet another clock as well....not like ours but clocks seem to be everywhere also.

Here's a web site on Historic paulus Hook in Jersey City.
http://www.paulushook.org/

It contains the church posted and it's where St peter's Prep School is located.  Their school colors, maroon and cream!
It has a small park contained within and has a great view of NYC and the harbor. It's just north of Liberty State Park. One block from Washington Street.

Here's an interesting piece about immagrants coming to Paulus Hook.
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... D%26sa%3DN

After the snow thaws, I'll go down there, next week sometime.

Banking on V5 for this one.  Think it's in NJ, somewhere in that harbor.

You guys talking about NY and NJ may want to take a look at these pics first.  They were found by Pine Tree, if I recall.

http://www.holyres.org/eng.htm
Go to "Photo Albums" "Sobor Views"
Also go to "Church History" "The construction of the new Church" and "External Views of the present Church"

My money is on Vancouver for this treasure.  I can't find any other good pics of this church.

Also, Verse 10:  "Him of Hard word in 3 Vols." has got to be the Harding Memorial.  It even has the bird in Image 12 (though not an exact match, I admit).

Look at #38-40.
http://www.seestanleypark.com/statplaq/page9bstat&plaq.htm
http://collections.ic.gc.ca/sva/bc/van_01/pg_14e.htm
http://collections.ic.gc.ca/sva/bc/van_01/pg_12e.htm

I have searched high and low for a rear view of the Harding Memorial, but I have not found one.  I would love to see if his words are on 3 tablets rather than just 2.  I have seen a close up pic of a lion's face on the rear of the memorial, but there is no large pic of what else is back there.

The Grey Giant?
http://www.trailcanada.com/photos/photos-bc-17-08.asp

The arm that extends over the slender path?  Look at #33-34.
http://www.seestanleypark.com/statplaq/page9bstat&plaq.htm
Or perhaps Pic #1.
http://www.seestanleypark.com/statplaq/page9astat&plaq.htm

I am hoping that this will attract some interest in Vancouver again, and perhaps we can do some deeper digging.  I think we have found that nearly every Image has some geographic outline.  Perhaps those lines in the water in Image 12 is an outline of Vancouver or Stanley Park.

I am also posting this in the Verse 10 thread, so we can have a summary of the Vancouver findings.

Egg, I take it that you do not see the outline of Northern NJ in the image12 hair. I can't say I blame you.
http://www.freewebs.com/patcash/pics.htm

It's was hard for me to believe at first, but I feel confident. The stand out things in 12 seem obvious to me now but there's so much more in the pic to decipher before it really gets nailed.  Pretty tough without lats. and longs.  What else makes you think Vancouver?

As I happen to agree with Egbert, here's why I think Vancouver is a strong contender:
- It's the Russian picture, and the Pacific NW coast is the obvious area of Russian settlement.
- Vancouver (Vancouver Island, actually) is mentioned on page 24 in the book.  Several other specific mentions in the same section have been clearly tied to suspected casque locations (even in some cases implying which picture goes with which location), so that raises the likelihood that Vancouver fits into the same pattern.
- Picture #9 is, to me, much more closely tied to NY.  I strongly doubt that two are in the same city.
- Bumping my own old post, check out the following pictures.  These are Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox church, and may be coincidental, but they look pretty good.  I'm perfectly willing to believe, as I posted before, that the silhouette is not an actual building, but is the "Old Russia" tag on the image.
http://www.pbase.com/reyeslp/image/39825299
http://www.pbase.com/reyeslp/image/39825286

That's why I'm thinking Vancouver.  I do think there's one in NY, just not this one.
